About the Cirrus Vision Jet
The Cirrus Vision Jet (SF50) is a single-engine personal jet designed to be flown by its owner. It entered service in 2016 as the first certified single-engine civil jet, powered by one Williams FJ33 turbofan mounted on top of the fuselage, and it carries the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) that made the piston Cirrus models famous.
Later versions brought real changes for buyers. The G2 raised the certified ceiling and introduced a touchscreen Cirrus Perspective Touch flight deck, and Safe Return emergency autoland, which lets a passenger land the jet with one button, arrived in 2020. The G2+ improved takeoff performance, which matters at hot or high-elevation airports.
What to Check When Buying a Used Cirrus Vision Jet
- Generation and options: G1, G2 or G2+, Safe Return, and the avionics software level.
- Engine program enrollment for the Williams FJ33 and the hours since the last major inspection.
- CAPS parachute repack and rocket motor dates.
- Maintenance done at an authorized Cirrus jet service center, with complete records.
- Damage history and the condition of the windshield, leading edges and interior.

02Description
The Partnership: This is a 50% co-ownership in a professionally managed aircraft. The existing 50% partner flies approximately 100 hours per year, and trips are scheduled well in advance — there are no surprise trips and no competing for weekends. Scheduling is handled through a shared Apple calendar and through Coast. Coast Aircraft Sales manages the aircraft out of KMYF, where it is kept inside a hangar with valet service, so maintenance, scheduling and hangar logistics are handled professionally rather than between owners. Direct operating and fixed costs are shared 50/50.
Why the Share Is Available: The airplane was purchased new in 2023 largely to make it easy to visit college age kids in different states. For one of the partners that season has run its course and the half share is no longer needed. The remaining owner is staying with the aircraft, which continues to be based and managed at KMYF.
For the Family: If you’re not the one flying, here’s what matters most.
If something happens to the pilot, the airplane lands itself. Safe Return Emergency Autoland is a button on the ceiling. Press it and the aircraft selects an airport, flies the approach, lands, brakes and shuts down the engine — while communicating with air traffic control on its own. No training required, no experience needed. The entire airplane has a parachute. CAPS brings the whole aircraft down under canopy. It is standard equipment on every Cirrus ever built.
The cabin is pressurized, air conditioned and quiet — seating for up to seven, climate control in the back, a 22″ entertainment display, and real room for luggage and dogs. No middle seats, no connections, no terminals.Real times from San Diego:
